MUD Clients

The following statistics are intended to provide an approximate indication of client popularity in God Wars II. Multiple characters connected from the same IP address are only counted once, unless they use different clients, in which case each of the clients they use will be counted once. If the same character alternates between different clients, only their most recent client will be counted (meaning numbers may go down as well as up).

Some clients (such as MudGamers and TMC) hide the player's IP address, and therefore only ever show up as one user. Other clients (such as GMud and older versions of TinyFugue) won't report their terminal type, and so don't show up at all.

Note that only active characters are counted. An active character in this context is defined as someone who has played for at least three hours, connected at least twice, and has been online at least once in the last 30 days. Of the 421 active characters, 161 last connected from a unique IP address, and of those 27 refused to identify their client. The remaining 134 characters are broken down by client as follows:
