Wrong Victim

INTRODUCTION

A defeated foe turns out to be the victim of the real danger. In this story, someone starts in the virtual gutter, as a sinner of some kind. The thread then shows their ascension to becoming a better person, often in response to stress that would defeat a normal person. Thus they achieve deserved heroic status.

We start the adventure with the protagonist fighting a vicious foe.

SUBTHREADS

Tricked
An enemy or rival tricks the protagonist into doing something evil, believing they are doing good. The thread involves a special form of transformation, in which a person grows up. The veils of younger times are lost as they learn and grow. Thus the rudderless youth finds meaning or perhaps an older person rediscovers their purpose.

Double-Edged Sword
An old friend delivers a dangerous gift to the protagonist. This thread involves a search for something, someone, or somewhere. Perhaps someone is even searching for themselves, with the outer journey mirrored internally.

LOCATIONS

Library
This could be a national library, a public lending library, a university library, or even a large private collection. In a less literal sense, it might even refer to an online database.

Restaurant
An establishment that serves food and drink, this could also refer to a cafe or pub, a tapas bar or sushi train, a hotel restaurant, or even a fast food drive-through.
