Vanishing Act

INTRODUCTION

A sorcerer or other supernatural entity has used magic to help a criminal escape justice. In this story, someone goes beyond normally accepted behavior as the rest of the world looks on in horror.

The adventure begins with a phone call from a contact, who has some useful information for the protagonist.

SUBTHREADS

Limelight for a Night
The protagonist receives extensive publicity and attention for a short time. In this thread, someone is physically transformed, perhaps into a beast, or maybe into some spiritual or alien form. The thread may then continue with the changed person struggling to be released or to use their new form for some particular purpose.

A Little Knowledge
An enemy or rival knows something that the protagonist needs to know. This thread involves a series of riddles or challenges, with the protagonist gradually uncovering clues before reaching the final solution. There may be terrible consequences if the riddle is not solved in time.

LOCATIONS

Mansion
This huge dwelling house could be a playboy's grandiose modern home, accommodating a range of leisure activities, or a crumbling old gothic ruin that's barely habitable.

Nightclub
An entertainment venue which usually operates late into the night, it typically includes a dance floor and loud music. Entrance usually involves a fee, a vague dress code, and plenty of discrimination from the bouncers.
